Providing adequate space between your trees and structures can help reduce unwanted debris buildup, moss growth (which can lead to moisture retention on your roof), and decreased fire risk.

An example of Madrone release. After removing non-native Oaks that were growing up into the madrone, this tree now has the opportunity to receive more even access to sunlight and will receive future pruning to encourage more even weight distribution.

Oregon White Oaks are our heritage trees. They offer food and habitat for countless birds, mammals, and insects. They really shine for this service, among many others, that they offer to the larger ecosystems of which they are a part. By providing them with adequate light exposure and native plant communities we can help them thrive.
